The WFI 2024: 7/8-14 and 7/8-21
The Wyoming Forensics Institute is a summer debate camp open to all high school students throughout the country. We will be in-person this coming summer 2024 at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY. Debaters of all skill levels are welcome.
For summer 2024, we are offering a one week session 7/8-14 and a two week session 7/18-21 . This year we will have two policy debate labs, a Lincoln-Douglas lab, and a Public Forum Lab. Our Rising Stars policy lab is a one week lab for folks with a little less experience. We suggest signing up for this lab if you have between no experience and one-and-a-half years of experience. Our Scholars Policy Lab has a one week and a two week option, and is a better fit for students with either more than a year or more than eight tournaments of experience. Our Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum labs are one week sessions for students of all experience levels.
All students will engage in skills development aimed at building the capabilities necessary to be a successful debater. Students will receive an evidence set before camp begins so they can start debating from day one, and will polish their research skills during the camp as they work on adding to that evidence set. Policy students will gain in-depth knowledge about the year’s debate topic, including background issues of the controversy, likely affirmative and negative arguments, and strategic guidance on how to debate well throughout the year.
This is the WFI's 20th year of offering affordable debate education. Our mission is to provide exceptional, national-caliber instruction to students at the most accessible price. Please read on to find out more.
